Merry Christmas!

For Christmas Adam and I went to my parent's house in Houston. Adam went on his first plane ride ever. I don't think it was as big of a deal as he anticipated, but I believe he enjoyed it. He made it through the security check point with no problems other than anxiety. Our layover however in Albuquerque was delayed over an hour. And that's always fun to sit there and do nothing in airport. I did get some reading done in a book I am reading, Dead Until Dark. It's part of a book series that has now been made into a HBO Series called True Blood. We have been doing a lot of relaxing, EATING, swimming, and shopping. Here are some pictures of our adventures so far.

My polar bears in the snow + a black bear

The pack playin' in the new snow that came down last night
Memphis- "I want to be white too!"
Aspen "I am a snow dog!"
Aspen "or am I a gazelle?"
Lilo- "I have a cute husky butt and tail, stop staring!"

Run, Run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I am the top snow dog!
White Memphrica
Aspen- "My feet sink to the bottom of the ground! I love it!"
Bat dog is coming to get Lilo!

Lilo & Aspen's Baby Boy came over for a visit

One of Lilo & Aspen's puppies came for a visit this week.  He was the last one from the litter to go, but he was one of my favorites as I got to spend so much time with him. As a puppy he had the most "husky-like" personality. He was a master escape artist and just had the overly happy attitude.  We used to call him Chocolate Thunder, but his new name is Cody.  Here are some pictures from his visit.

Lilo is ready to play!

Hugs for dad!

Tug of War with Memphis
This is a brand new toy, lets see how long it will take us to destroy it!

Less than a half hour later here are the remains!

Procrastination

I am the queen of procrastination. Unfortunately it can lead to very stressful moments. I have long since put off an independent study class I had signed up for because...well I am just dumb. It took me over a year to get my act together and be done with it, but congrats to me because I finally finished it. Abnormal Psych, it's been a long road, but I am happy to see you gone! I am done with all college classes FOREVER! Whoo hoo! Now all I have left to do is the hard part. Find an internship and then I am career bound. Take that unemployed version of Michelle!

The Snow is Yummy

We had a pretty good snow this morning and I captured the puppies having some fun in it. It was hard to get any pictures of Aspen because he can't stand still for more than 2 seconds. Although I really wish I was able to catch Memphis in his body slides on the ground. Whenver he tried to run anywhere and turn he ended up falling and sliding about two feet every time. He is such a goofy cluts!

As seen below the ice is a good source of water. Lilo was eating snow all morning.

This is a mid action picture of Lilo running after Memphis...I don't know what's going on with her legs.
I love the snow!!!

Why can't she keep her eyes open when I finally get Aspen to look at me??? Grr

The Quest for a Bagel Dog

About a year and half ago me and my father went to an Astros Vs. Cardinals game in St Louis. At Busch Stadium they had Bagel Dogs. My dad instantly "fell in love." Since then he has not been able to find said Bagel Dogs. He has been able to find the weiner dog version, but that simply doesn't quite measure up to the Busch Stadium Bagel Dog. While in Utah this past week he was on a quest. The quest for a bagel dog! We checked Costco and had no such luck there. Then when we went up to Brewvies with Rose we saw a movie called Role Models. In the movie one of the characters has a fascination with Bagel Dogs as well. She got her bagel dogs at a convenient store so we figured we might be able to find one there. Yeah right! We checked every convenient store chain in Utah County and none of them had heard of a Bagel Dog. The night before my dad had to leave he started searching on the Internet for Bagel Dogs. And guess what? He found Bagel Dogs on the Internet at a restaurant in Utah County. None other than Einstein Bagels. The morning before the flight we filled up on some overpriced Bagel Dogs and found disappointment that they just didn't quite taste the same, but they at least were a happy ending to the quest...somewhat.

All Things Thanksgiving

So this week my dad came in for Thanksgiving. It was a very eventful trip so I will do my best to sum it all up. He came in on Monday afternoon. After me and Adam picked him up from the airport we went to Body World. Which I must say was extremely awesome. They have taken bodies people have donated to science and used this new process called Plastination to preserve the bodies. As a person who has studied Anatomy I must say they did a great job. Not to mention because plastination isn't as messy the bodies weren't that nasty juicy smelly cadaver smell. Big plus! The only part that was hard to see was the exhibit on babies. They followed the baby starting at 4 weeks until birth. It was so pitiful to see a nine week old baby with it's little fingers and toes and know that people have no problem aborting babies that little. If anything can make you choose pro-life it might just be seeing what people are actually killing, which is a human being. The display of muscles was very detailed and they showed the effects of certain diseases on the body which was very intriguing.

After we got to the house my dad went out to see the puppies. Lilo & Aspen freaked out seeing my dad. They could not stay away from him. I guess they must miss living in Memphrica after all. That night Adam's family came over for a cook out. No brawls came about so I think it went pretty well. :)

During the weeks we saw a grand total of 5 movies in the movie theatre! On one day we went to see The Four Christmases and Transporter 3 and that was a tiresome movie day for sure! The rest of the week we went to see Role Models (@ the Cinema Pub in SLC AKA Brewvies), Twilight, & Bolt in 3D.

Mostly through the week we just relaxed. The boys played A LOT of Call of Duty & we all just shared memories and spent some good quality family time with one another. Hurray for Thanksgiving!
