A little piece of Georgia has made it to Memphis, TN. A favorite snack of Georgia is none other than boiled peanuts. Raw peanuts are boiled in water to make a nice salty and soft treat. Mmmmm so good. I went to the Farmer's Market last friday and saw the sign for boiled peanuts and about had a heart attack. I haven't had them since I lived in Georgia...over 15 years ago! The guy selling them had them for the first time in Florida a couple of years ago on a fishing trip. To his surprise when he got back to Memphis no one had ever heard of boiled peanuts. And then he started selling them every friday and saturday at the Shelby Farms Farmer's Market.. Such a good find!
